Pretty Little Liars: Summer School Episode 7 Recap: 10 Biggest Reveals (2024)

Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers from Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 7, "Chapter Seventeen: The Bogeyman."

Summary

  • Noa chooses Jen over Shawn in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 7, and Shawn allegedly punches a hole in the wall in Noa's apartment when he learns she cheated on him.
  • Mouse attempts to stop "The Reckoning," but her Spooky Spaghetti antics backfire.
  • Bloody Rose seemingly kills Kelly at the end of the episode.

Although the end of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6 revealed that Imogen's mother is alive (and Bloody Rose), episode 7 quickly informs viewers that the truth behind season 2's villain isn't that simple. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring's Max slasher teen drama television series has teased who Bloody Rose is all season long, and the writers are seemingly holding the big reveal until the finale (which is episode 8, premiering on June 20). Nevertheless, Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 7 features several shocking moments and even leaves viewers on a cliffhanger.

As mentioned above, Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6concluded with the revelation that Davie Adams is Bloody Rose. The villain attacked Imogen without warning her like she did the others. Imogen burst into her mother's old room, anticipating seeing Kelly on the bed, but all she found was a rose and a letter from Bloody Rose before the terrifying woman walked in and attacked her. While Bloody Rose was choking her, Imogen unwrapped the bandages on her face and screamed when she recognized her mother. However, episode 7 proves that things might not be as they seem.

10 Noa Chooses Jen

Shawn Doesn't Take The Breakup Well

Before getting down to the Bloody Rose business, Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 7 contains a lot of relationship developments and drama, especially concerning Noa's love life. Even though Jen stole $2,000 from Shawn's family, Noa still chooses to be with her over her (now) ex-boyfriend. While breaking up with Shawn, Noa decides not to tell him about her infidelity. However, Shawn, who isn't taking the breakup well, later deduces Noa cheated on him with Jen, and he's angry.

Later in episode 7 of the Pretty Little Liars horror spinoff, Noa comes home to find Jen shaken and a huge hole in the wall. Jen informs her that Shawn yelled at her before punching the wall. Noa is furious, so, she takes a baseball bat and wrecks Shawn's car. He catches her in the midst of her revenge, and the former couple air out their frustrations. While Noa confronts him about punching the wall and Shawn doesn't deny it, it's strange that viewers don't see his fit of rage. Perhaps it never happened, and Jen is lying to her girlfriend.

9 Faran & Greg Hook Up

The Two Characters Finally Act On Their Sexual Tension

It was only a matter of time before Faran and Greg gave in to their obvious romantic chemistry, and it only took them an episode (well, one for Greg, it was two for Faran) after their respective breakups to hook up in the Max series. Faran ended her relationship with Henry after seeing him participating in the church's cult-like ritual in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 5. Meanwhile, Henry broke up with Kelly once he came to his senses regarding "Hell House" in episode 6. Consequently, Faran and Greg are single in episode 7 and take advantage of their newfound freedom.

Following Imogen's chilling encounter with Bloody Rose, Greg comes to Faran's house to check on her in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 7. One thing leads to another, and the two characters hook up. Faran and Greg's relationship status remains unclear, but they later do go on a date. So, perhaps their romance runs deeper than just sexual tension and Faran and Greg can develop a strong bond (given they survive season 2).

8 Wes Moves To Los Angeles

He Leaves Tabby & Christian In Charge Of The Orpheum

Wes went missing in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6, and some people (including Tabby) believed a certain blood-soaked villain killed him. However, Wes proves them wrong when he shows up in episode 7 to tell Tabby and Christian that he's quitting and moving to Los Angeles to pursue a film career. Wes also apologizes to the young couple about his racist comments, and Tabby and Christian forgive him.

Even though Wes seemingly left Millwood in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6, he is rather suspicious and could still be working with Bloody Rose.

Following Wes' quit, Tabby and Christian become the co-managers of the Orpheum. As co-managers, one of the first things they do is talk with a location scout named Billy Crane. Billy tells Tabby and Christian that a director wants to use the movie theater for their upcoming film (starring Sydney Sweeney and Emma Roberts) about the Millwood Massacre, which deeply disturbs Tabby (rightfully so).

7 Tabby Decides To Make Her Own Movie About The Millwood Massacre

Tabby Learns A Big Time Director Is Making A Film About Her Trauma

Tabby doesn't feel comfortable with some random director butchering her story and trying to adapt it for the big screen in the Pretty Little Liars spinoff. Of course, the Millwood Massacre in Original Sin was a horrifying experience for Tabby and her friends, which is why she isn't happy about someone else trying to adapt it into a movie. So, Tabby plans to produce her own film about "A's" reign of terror in Millwood.

Tabby tells Christian about Bloody Rose in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 7.

Tabby sets the production start date for August 1 as she is determined to survive the Liars' Bloody Rose situation. However, only time will tell if Tabby becomes the final girl in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School or if she becomes one of Bloody Rose's next victims. Tabby surviving is more likely, though, given her history and the fact that the writers likely wouldn't get rid of her character so easily (or so soon).

6 Stringbean Threatens To Sue Faran

Faran Fights Back With Her Own Lawsuit

As some may recall, Faran fired one of the lifeguards — Stringbean — in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 3 after a girl almost drowned on his watch. Stringbean is quite unhappy about his termination and threatens to sue Faran in "Chapter Seventeen: The Bogeyman." Coach Rhodes informs her about Stringbean's wrongful termination and bullying accusations, and Faran calls her mother for some legal advice.

Faran's defining quality has always been her strength, which her mother reminds her of in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 7. As a result, Faran fights back and presents Coach Rhodes with a potential lawsuit of her own towards the end of the hour, which quickly shuts him up. Perhaps Stringbean and his threats will return during the upcoming finale, but given how Faran presents her argument in episode 7, it seems unlikely that he'll be a problem in the future.

Pretty Little Liars Just Repeated The Most Frustrating Part Of Its "A" Mystery, 10 Years Later

Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, the PLL spinoff, just repeated one of the franchise's most frustrating storylines from the "A" mystery.

5 Mouse Tries To Shut Down Spooky Spaghetti

Mouse's Angela Waters Video Message Backfires

Mouse's central storyline throughout Pretty Little Liars: Summer School revolves around Spooky Spaghetti, so, it's no surprise that she would be the one to try to take it down in episode 7. After getting spooked about "The Reckoning," Mouse posts a video of herself pretending to be Angela Waters to the horror website. She tries to stop people from obsessing over Bloody Rose, but Mouse's attempts backfire because people figure out she is behind the video.

Someone posted a statement on Spooky Spaghetti claiming that if Archie Waters dies (via execution), there has to be a blood atonement, or a sacrifice, in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School.

So, Mouse turns to plan B in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 7 and asks her computer teacher, Mr. G, for help. Mr. G believes he can shut down Spooky Spaghetti, but the hour ends before the audience can learn whether he is successful. The odds are that it won't be that easy to get rid of Spooky Spaghetti in the Max slasher teen drama.

4 Dr. Sullivan Reveals That "A" Killed Her Son

Archie Waters Was Angry She Couldn't Help Him Or His Mom

Although Imogen is certain she saw her mom as Bloody Rose in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, her friends convince her that the villain is either someone who looks like Davie, someone wearing a mask, or Imogen was hallucinating. As Christian later points out, anyone could make a human-like mask with a 3D printer (like himself or perhaps Wes). So, Imogen returns to her original theory that Dr. Sullivan is Bloody Rose. However, when the young teenager confronts the therapist, Imogen learns the truth behind Dr. Sullivan's purposeful presence in her life, and it's quite tragic.

Many years ago, Dr. Sullivan's son, Sebastian, was found murdered, and she believed that Archie Waters, aka "A," killed him. As Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 4 revealed, Dr. Sullivan treated Rose Waters when she was at the Radley Sanitarium. She went into further detail about her history with the Waters family during her conversation with Imogen. Rose made Dr. Sullivan promise that she would help Archie, and after a scary encounter with him, the therapist never contacted them again. Consequently, Archie sought revenge and killed Dr. Sullivan's son, which is why she wanted to help the girls.

Mrs. Beasley has a thriving rose garden; she lies about Sandy's whereabouts (Kelly calls Sandy's mother and confirms she's not on the cape); and Mrs. Beasley blames Imogen, Tabby, Faran, Mouse, and Noa for Karen's death and comments that they haven't yet atoned for their sins.

Dr. Sullivan shows Imogen Sebastian's grave to prove to her that he existed and died in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. Afterward, Imogen visits her mother's grave but notices the red roses that Mrs. Beasley left for Karen by her tombstone. Imogen frantically runs back to Dr. Sullivan, but the therapist is gone, and all that remains are rose petals in her car.

3 Rose Is Alive

The Real Rose Waters Shows Up At Mouse's Home

Rose Waters seemingly jumped to her death in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 4. However, that evidently wasn't the case since Mouse stumbles upon Rose speaking with her grandmother towards the end of episode 7. The woman's reappearance isn't delved into during the hour, seeing as it is meant to leave viewers hanging and wanting more. So, when the finale rolls around, fans (and the Pretty Little Liars: Summer School characters) will learn more about why Rose has returned.

Rose is likely not Bloody Rose in the Max slasher teen drama show (especially given what happens at the end of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 7). So, she might be coming to the girls to help them, or she could still be evil just like her son. Whatever the case, fans will have to wait until episode 8 premieres on June 20 to learn more about Rose and her intentions.

2 Kelly Suspects Her Mother Is Bloody Rose

Mrs. Beasley Has A Rose Garden & Blames The Girls For Karen's Death

Since the Liars aren't convinced that Imogen's mom is Bloody Rose in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, they (literally) go back to the drawing board in episode 7. One of their top suspects is Martha Beasley, and even though Faran is mad at Kelly for "Redemption House," she seeks her out and warns her that her mother might be a murderous psychopath. Of course, Kelly rebuffs the idea at first, but as she thinks about it, she begins seeing signs that Faran might be correct.

Sandy's mother claims her daughter has been texting her every night from Millwood. Meanwhile, Mrs. Beasley says that Pastor Malachi (who supposedly fled town following "Redemption House," although viewers know Bloody Rose killed him) took the call from Sandy's mother telling them about Sandy leaving Millwood.

All signs point towards Martha being Bloody Rose, so, Kelly locks her mother in a closet and calls Faran to meet her at the pool at the end of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 7.

One Pretty Little Liars: Summer School character made an offhand comment in episode 6 that seemingly alluded to someone in the CW series Riverdale.

1 Bloody Rose Attacks Kelly At The Pool

Faran Arrives Too Late

While Mrs. Beasley is supposed to be locked in the family's praying closet, Bloody Rose finds Kelly at the pool in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 7 and supposedly attacks her. Of course, the Max slasher teen drama cuts away from the moment the villain pounces on Kelly. But the episode returns to the scene of the crime when Faran gets back home from her date with Greg and listens to Kelly's voicemail about meeting at the pool.

When Faran gets there, she finds Kelly lying in the water face down, while Bloody Rose stares at her from behind the fence and slashes her knife against the chain link. Unfortunately, the hour ends before viewers learn what happens next, but the show obviously wants fans to think that Kelly is dead. However, there was no blood surrounding Kelly in the pool, so, perhaps she isn't dead (and is faking it). Everyone will have to wait until the Pretty Little Liars: Summer School finale to learn the truth, though, and learn, once and for all, who Bloody Rose is.
